"Very beautiful village, calm and peacefull; it is a `must see`. It is located near to cannes and monaco; two wonderful locations that you must visit."

"Nice is wonderful. The Nicoise are very warm and friendly people. I speak fairly terrible French, yet they seemed to appreciate the effort and were helpful in correcting mistakes. Of course like any city on Cote d`Azur, the Mediterranean is wonderful and beautiful. The food was very good, from trad. French to seafood, and many other types. I wish I had more time there..."

"Nice is such a wonderful mixture of history and cultures that over the centuries have laid the foundations for a modern seaside playground. The old city centre with the buzz of its markets and array of eating establishments all vying for tourist dollars to the locally referred restaurants that provide superb food at a modest price. The beaches are well populated and a pair of plastic sandals gets you to the crystal clear water with a minimum of fuss. Buses are plentiful and provide good transport to other areas for day visits."

"Nice old town and port very interesting and close by. Lots of restaurants by Flower market in the old town - quite pricy so we mainly chose from the set menu. Ate in different restaurant each night. Buses very good and cheap. Mainly window-shopped and bought fruit and souvenirs from the market and cheap wine from the local supermarket. Took lift to the top of the nearby Castel - amazing views from the top all across Nice city and Nice old port - then walked back down. There are regular open-top tour buses of the city and a little tourist train but we did not use these. Beach close to hotel but pebbly."

"Good restaurants, bars, etc. Price level acceptable. Just a pitty there is no sandy beach, but only rocks! The streets are very clean and there is a lot of entertainment.
Difficult to find a location with English spoken TV channels."

"Nice itself is lovely, the weather was gorgeous, you can browse the market stalls and there are loads of places to eat. Beach is stony but we bought the rubber shoes and the sea was gorgeous for a swim. Went on a tour to Monaco which was great - our Tour Guide Ingrid was good fun and very informative. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable 4 days and I would definitely recommend it."

"A great city with a lot of things to do. Visit the old town with a MUST visit to Fennochio ice cream. There are other places call Pennochio. Only go to Fennochio - next to the old Catholic church (not the Russian Church)."

"The airport is a 15 min, 4 euro trip to Nice itself. The town itself is very pretty, particularly the old streets, restaurants and bars. The beach is a pebble beach and actually not that good but the water is lovely and clean."

"Le tour en autocar n`est pas très intéressant. Le petit train est mieux. Pour le reste, il vaut mieux visiter à pied. C`est vraiment une ville très agréable avec des tas de bons restaurants."

"Nice seemed pretty, if the same as many other seaside towns. The french tourist info system was as usual very efficient and easy to access andunderstand."

"I adore Nice, have been there 4 times now 4 years in a row, and love the beach, shops, weather, people, bus service, and the new tram system is superb, the only complaint I have is that I have had my purse stolen on the tram twice now and I think more should be done to stamp this out. As its very distressing. I knew my purse had gone 3 seconds after it had been taken but there was nothing I could do as there was no conductor or a button to press to hold the doors closed so passengers in my car could be searched. I think you need a guard on the train to deter pickpockets.
